"The KLOCKS VISIT LEO’s BBQ."

After getting the opportunity to meet one of Oklahoma City’s newest celebrities on Saturday August 18th, 2007 while walking through Russell’s on our first break, Charles Smith exclaimed he loved the band and wanted us to visit his establishment and try out his wonderful food. His restaurant was recently featured on the FOOD NETWORK show called “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” hosted by Guy Fieri.

As we reported in the last news article, the band visited LEO’s BBQ on Saturday September 22nd at 1:00 p.m. On the way, we found out from Charles that the restaurant had recently moved to Broadway and just east of 4th street in downtown OKC. It was really easy to find and did not take long for us to get to the new location.

Once we arrived, the staff took care of us and before long we were eating some of the best BBQ we have had in a long time. “Try the BBQ sauce. Red is HOT, White is Not!” Charles exclaimed to us on the phone as he was unable to be there when we arrived as he was in Tulsa on a business trip. Well, he was right. The HOT sauce was very hot but it was very delicious.

When you visit LEO’s yourself try the plates we dug into which had a little bit of everything. The combination plate called "LEO's Special" was awesome. Ribs, chopped BBQ, sausage, and even bologna that was so yummy. Mix in some beans and potato salad and top it all off with Charles’ famous Strawberry and banana cake and you will leave the same way we did - very satisfied and very happy.

Props go out to nephew Reggie and the rest of the LEO’s staff who took care of us on this beautiful September day and THANKS to Charles himself who treated us like celebrities. We will see them all soon.
